THEIR BUS DRIVER IS OFF THE JOB UNDER INVESTIGATION SINCE MAY. JUSTIN VOSS, 42, OF BEDFORD, PASSED THE BACKGROUND CHECK. WE’RE TOLD, YET IN THIS INDICTMENT HE’S ACCUSED OF KIDNAPING 3 TO 5 YEAR OLDS. THE PRESCHOOLER ARRIVED TO SCHOOL LATE, PROMPTING A CHECK OF THE BUS GPS. THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TELLS US GPS ALLEGEDLY REVEALED THAT THE DEFENDANT ENTERED THE PARKING LOT AT SCHOOL, BUT INSTEAD OF DROPPING OFF, HE DROVE TO A SECLUDED PORTION OF THE PARKING LOT NEAR THE TREE LINE. VOSS IS ACCUSED OF DOING THIS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WITH THREE DIFFERENT VICTIMS, ALL WHO STRUGGLE TO COMMUNICATE. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, IN A STATEMENT READS AS SOON AS ALLEGATIONS SURFACED IN MAY OF 2024 REGARDING A DRIVER DEVIATING FROM STANDARD ROUTES AND PROCEDURES, THE DISTRICT FOLLOWED PROTOCOL AND ASKED THE TRANSPORTATION VENDOR TO PLACE THE INDIVIDUAL ON LEAVE. WHILE LEGAL PROCEEDINGS TOOK PLACE. INVESTIGATORS LEARNED THERE WAS AUDIO AND VIDEO EQUIPMENT ON THE BUS THAT WAS TURNED OFF FOR 20 MINUTES, AND THERE ARE PICTURES OF THE DEFENDANT OF THE DEFENDANT AND THE VICTIMS ON THE DEFENDANT’S PHONE. A bus driver allegedly kidnapped three children who attend a Newton day care and photographed the young victims, who are semi-nonverbal or struggle with communications, officials said Wednesday.Justin Vose, 42, of Bedford, was indicted by a Middlesex County Grand Jury for three counts of kidnapping. The charges are based upon allegations of inappropriate conduct by the defendant while he was working as a bus driver for the Newton Early Education Childhood Program and Transportation for Newton Public Schools contracted through JSC Transportation.Newton school officials notified police about suspicious activity by Vose, one of the city's contracted bus drivers, after one of the students was dropped off late at day care, officials said.When the bus company checked the driver’s GPS location it allegedly revealed that Vose entered the parking lot but instead of dropping the child off, he drove to a secluded portion of lot. Officials allege on multiple occasions, Vose took three victims, between ages 3 and 5 years old, to secluded areas and turned off the audio and video recording in his bus for up to 20 minutes at a time. At no time did the school district, parent of the students, daycare or bus company official authorize the defendant’s change in route or one-on-one time with the victims, officials said. A search of Vose's phone revealed that he took photos with the children, who are semi-nonverbal or struggle with communication, officials said.Vose is scheduled to be in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on Oct. 25.
